Starchy Pizza Pie

A tango between gut health and Italian food, a winning combination. 

What You May Need

Vitamix

Brown Rice Flour

Flax Seeds

Pizza Ingredients:

1 Green Plantain

2 tbsp Flax See

1 tbsp Onion Powder

1 tsp Oregano

1 tsp Garlic Powder

1 tsp Baking soda

1/2 tsp Salt

1/4 cup Water

1/4 cup Arrowroot Flour

1 cup Brown Rice Flour 

Sauce Ingredients:

1 Avocado

1/4 cup Nutritional Yeast

1 Tbsp Dried Onion

1 tsp Garlic powder 

3 Cloves Garlic

1-2  Tbsp Water 

Pinch Salt 

Instructions:

1) Preheat oven to 425F.

2) Blend water and green Plantain together in a high speed blender. Stop the blend until the consistency is smooth.

3) Add blended plantain into a separate bowl, add in additional ingredients except for the brown rice flour. Stir together.
4) Add 3/4 cup of Brown Rice, then while adding in the final 1/4 cup kneed together with hands until the ingredients start to form a ball that is not sticky.
5) Grab your favorite pizza stone and sprinkle a little bit of flour on the bottom. Then grab your ball and slowly thin out the dough into a circle.
6) Use a fork to poke holes on the bottom of the crust before putting it in the oven for 10 minutes to pre cook.
7) While precooking, make Avocado sauce by adding all ingredients into high speed blender and mix until smooth.
8) After the 10 minutes, top the pizza with sauce and toppings of choice. For this one I did tomatoes, leeks, parsley, and broccoli. Enjoy!
